PITY SYSTEM DEEP DIVE

The math behind every pull in Arknights: Endfield

Last updated: 2026-05-12

* TL;DR — The Three Numbers That Matter

Soft Pity: Pull 66

Rate climbs by +5% per pull from a 0.8% base. Most 6-stars arrive between 66 and 75.

Hard Pity: Pull 80

Guaranteed 6-star. Carries over between banners. Resets only when a 6★ appears.

Featured Spark: 120

Guarantees the rate-up Operator. Does NOT carry over.

The practical rule: never start a limited banner without 60,000 Oroberyl (120 pulls) saved. The pity calculator will tell you exactly how short you are.

Base Rates

Arknights: Endfield character banners use a 0.8% base rate for 6-star Operators, 8.0% for 5-stars, and 91.2% for 4-stars. A 5-star or higher is guaranteed every 10 pulls, and the 10-pull guarantee carries over between banners of the same type.

Rarity Per-pull rate 10-pull guarantee Notes
6★ Operator 0.8% 8.0% Hard pity at 80; featured spark at 120.
5★ Operator 8.0% At least one 5★ guaranteed every 10 pulls.
4★ Operator 91.2% Everything else.

The Soft Pity Curve

From pull 66 onward, the per-pull chance of a 6-star Operator follows p = 0.008 + 0.05 × (n − 65). The rate climbs in 5% steps until it reaches 100% at pull 80. Because the curve is so steep, the statistical average pull for a 6-star sits in the low 70s — not at the 80-pull ceiling.

The base 0.8% rate is not static. Once you reach pull 66 without a 6★, the system enters a "Growing Pity" phase where every subsequent pull gains an additional 5 percentage points of 6★ probability. The formula is straightforward:

pn = 0.008 + 0.05 × (n − 65)

for n ≥ 66, where n is the current pull count since the last 6★

Pull number 6★ probability What this means
1 – 65 0.8% Base rate. No escalation.
66 5.8% Soft pity begins. +5% per subsequent pull.
67 10.8% Climb continues.
68 15.8% Climb continues.
70 25.8% Most pulls land in the 66–75 window.
75 50.8% ~99% cumulative chance by this pull.
80 100% Hard pity. Guaranteed 6-star.

Because of how quickly probability stacks, roughly 99% of players will pull their 6★ by the 75th attempt. The Dual-Counter Paradox

Limited (Chartered) banners run two parallel pity counters with different reset rules. The 80-pull general pity carries over between banners and resets only when a 6-star appears. The 120-pull featured character guarantee is tied to a specific banner and is wiped when the banner ends. Misunderstanding this separation is the most common — and most expensive — pity mistake in Endfield.

The 80-Pull Pity (Carries)

  • Guarantees any 6★ within 80 pulls.
  • Progress carries over between banners of the same type.
  • Resets to zero only when any 6★ appears — featured or off-banner.
  • The 50/50 outcome determines whether that 6★ is the rate-up.

The 120-Pull Spark (Does NOT Carry)

  • Guarantees the featured Operator at pull 120.
  • One-time per banner. Wiped when the banner ends.
  • Free pulls from the Headhunting Dossier do NOT count toward the spark.
  • Already-fulfilled sparks (e.g., a 50/50 win) consume the guarantee for that banner.

The Dead Zone: Pulls 81 – 119

If you lose the 50/50 at the 80-pull hard pity, you must keep spending up to 40 more pulls to hit the 120-pull featured guarantee. Walking away here means the next banner inherits your 80-pull progress — but the 120-pull spark from this banner is lost forever. This is why every veteran Endfield player saves 120 pulls (60,000 Oroberyl) before touching a limited banner.

Endfield's design rewards planners over impulse pullers. Before you spend a single Oroberyl, run your numbers through the pity calculator to confirm you can either secure the spark or sit the banner out. For a broader currency and banner-type overview, see the main gacha guide.

Free Pull Incentives

30-Pull Urgent Recruitment

At 30 pulls on a limited banner you receive 10 free pulls. These pulls run at the base 0.8% rate, do NOT progress the 80-pull or 120-pull counters, and cause NO reset if they happen to land a 6★. Effectively a free 10-pull at base rates, sitting outside the tracking systems. Must be used during the current banner — they do not carry over.

60-Pull Headhunting Dossier

At 60 pulls you receive a Dossier — 10 free pulls usable ONLY on the next limited banner. Unlike Urgent Recruitment, Dossier pulls DO count toward the next banner's 80-pull pity. They do NOT count toward the 120-pull featured guarantee. The Dossier expires after one banner cycle and cannot be hoarded.

Weapon Pity (Arsenal Exchange)

The weapon banner uses Arsenal Tickets — a byproduct of character pulls — rather than Oroberyl. A 6-star weapon is guaranteed every 40 pulls with a 25/75 split for the featured signature weapon, and the featured weapon is hard-guaranteed by pull 80. Weapon pity does not carry over between banners; rotation wipes the counter.

Rarity Per-pull rate Notes
6★ Weapon 4.0% Guaranteed every 40 pulls. 25% featured / 75% standard.
5★ Weapon 15.0% Higher rarity weight than the character banner.
4★ Weapon 81.0% Filler — used for refinements.

The 40 / 80 Structure

  • Pull 40: Guaranteed 6★ weapon. 25% chance it's the featured signature, 75% standard.
  • Pull 80: If the featured weapon hasn't appeared by now, the 80th pull guarantees it.
  • Pull 100: Bonus 6★ weapon selector ("Arms Offering").
  • Pull 180: Guaranteed second copy of the featured weapon.

Arsenal Ticket Income (per pull)

  • 6★ Operator 2,000 tickets
  • 5★ Operator 200 tickets
  • 4★ Operator 20 tickets
  • 10-pull (no 6★) ~380 tickets

A 10-pull on the weapon banner costs 1,980 tickets, so ~52 character pulls fund one weapon multi if no 6★ Operators appear in those pulls. For the broader currency loop and shop refresh details, see the gacha guide.

The Luck Paradox

Because weapon pulls are funded by character pulls, getting "lucky" can hurt you. Going the full 120 pulls for a character generates roughly 8,160 – 8,500 Arsenal Tickets — exactly enough for the 40-pull 6★ weapon guarantee. If instead you pull the featured Operator on your first 10-pull, you earn around 2,380 tickets, leaving you nearly 14,000 tickets short of the 80-pull featured weapon guarantee.

The choice becomes: stop and miss the signature weapon, or keep pulling on the character banner purely to farm tickets — inefficient, because the 120-pull spark has already consumed itself and every further 6★ is a fresh 50/50. The system favors players who budget for the full 120 pulls regardless of early success. Duplicate exchanges via bond quota can soften the tail end of a long banner.

Strategy Summary

1. Save 120 Before Touching a Limited

60,000 Oroberyl is the minimum buy-in for a guaranteed featured Operator. Anything less and you're gambling against the dead zone. Skipping two banners to save up is the F2P default.

2. Prioritize Signature-Weapon Synergies

If you're going the full 120 anyway, the weapon banner becomes effectively free for one 6★ weapon — so prioritize Operators whose signature weapons offer the largest gameplay shift.

3. Check the Weapon Shop Weekly

6★ weapons can be bought outright for 2,480 Arsenal Tickets in the shop. The shop refreshes weekly — a reliable safety net if the weapon banner refuses to cooperate.

Run Your Numbers Before You Pull

Frequently Asked Questions

When does soft pity start in Arknights: Endfield?

Soft pity for 6-star Operators begins on the 66th pull. From pull 66 onward, the rate climbs by 5% per pull on top of the 0.8% base rate, following the formula p = 0.008 + 0.05 × (n − 65). By pull 75 the per-pull chance is over 50%, which is why most 6-stars arrive between pulls 66 and 75 — well before the 80-pull hard pity.

Does pity carry over between banners?

Partially. The 80-pull general 6-star pity counter carries over between character banners of the same type and resets to zero only when you actually obtain a 6-star. The 120-pull featured character guarantee does NOT carry over — it is tied to the specific banner and resets when the banner ends. Weapon pity also does not carry over.

What happens if I win the 50/50 before pull 120?

If you obtain the featured 6-star Operator before reaching 120 pulls, the 120-pull guarantee is fulfilled and consumed for that banner. Your general 80-pull pity counter also resets to zero. There is no second 120-pull spark on the same banner.

How do free pulls from Urgent Recruitment and the Headhunting Dossier interact with pity?

The 10 pulls from the 30-pull Urgent Recruitment reward are pity-neutral on the current banner — they do not progress the 80 or 120 counter, and any 6-star obtained on them does not reset your existing pity. The Headhunting Dossier from the 60-pull milestone, by contrast, gives 10 free pulls usable only on the NEXT limited banner, and those pulls DO count toward that banner's 80-pull pity counter.

Are weapons guaranteed in Arknights: Endfield?

Yes. A 6-star weapon is guaranteed every 40 pulls (one full Arsenal Issue cycle of 4 Issues), with a 25% chance it is the featured signature weapon and 75% chance it is an off-banner standard. If the featured weapon has not appeared by pull 79, the 80th pull guarantees it. Weapon pity does not carry over between banners.
