WEAPON PROGRESSION PLANNER
Plan and calculate weapon upgrade costs. Track breakthrough materials, level-up expenses, and optimize your weapon development.
About this planner
The Weapon Progression Planner calculates the full material cost — breakthrough materials plus level-up XP — to take one or more weapons from current state to a target breakthrough stage. Pick the weapons you plan to invest in, mark how many of each material you already own, and the planner outputs your remaining shopping list, scaled correctly across all 6 breakthrough stages.
Use this tool when planning a major weapon investment (essence-farming pull plus full breakthrough) or when juggling multiple weapons across the same shared material pool. The export options (text, Markdown, CSV) make it easy to share farming routes with friends or paste into a Discord planning channel. Owned-material counts persist in your browser, so you can update progress as you farm without losing prior state.

How the planner calculates your material bill
Each weapon in Arknights: Endfield progresses through six breakthrough stages, called Breakthrough 0 (B0) through Breakthrough 5 (B5). Every breakthrough raises the weapon's level cap and unlocks a tier of skill-multiplier scaling. The planner takes your target breakthrough for each selected weapon, looks up the per-stage material cost from the in-game data tables, sums the cost across every stage between your current state and the target, and adds the level-up XP cost to take the weapon from level 1 to the new cap.
When you mark materials you already own, the planner subtracts them from the total before showing the remaining-to-farm column. Owned counts persist in browser localStorage, so the checklist survives page refreshes and you can update progress in place as you farm. Switching browser or clearing site data resets the saved state — export to CSV first if you need a portable record.
Breakthrough material categories
- Weapon Components — universal crafting parts (cores, frames, sockets) used across every weapon type. Drop from patrol stages and the weekly Joint Operations rotation.
- Essence — element-tagged or weapon-type-tagged consumables that scale in tier alongside breakthrough stage. Common essence drops from world-boss patrols; high-tier essence drops only from named bosses and weekly raids.
- Weapon XP Materials — leveling-fuel items consumed when raising the weapon's level inside a given breakthrough cap. The XP cost curve is non-linear: late levels inside a breakthrough cost significantly more than early levels.
- Boss-Drop Catalysts — limited 5★ and 6★ weapons require a small number of catalyst items that only drop from specific boss fights or premium event reward tracks. The planner flags these separately so you can see at a glance whether the bottleneck is a routine farm or a weekly clear.
- Credits & Currency — the basic credit cost paid alongside every breakthrough and level-up. Usually not the bottleneck, but included in the export for completeness.
Why the planner pairs with the Recommender and Builds pages
This tool is a material accountant — it tells you what to farm once you have already decided which weapon to invest in. It does not rank weapons or compare DPS. For ranking, start at the Operator Builds page to find the best weapon for the operator you are leveling, or at the Weapon Recommender to score every weapon against an operator profile. Once a target weapon is locked in, drop it into this planner to see the exact farming bill.
Export formats and what they are for
- Plain text — line-broken material list, formatted for Discord paste. Best for quickly sharing a single weapon's bill with a friend or guild channel.
- Markdown — table-formatted output that renders cleanly in Notion, Obsidian, and GitHub gists. Use when you maintain a long-running farming spreadsheet outside of your browser.
- CSV — opens directly in Google Sheets or Excel. Best for cross-referencing multiple weapons against your inventory and building custom pivot views.
Data caveat: per-stage material costs are sourced from the most recent patch of Arknights: Endfield. The planner does not yet handle partial-level progress (it assumes a clean Level 1 starting point inside each new breakthrough cap), and it does not subtract materials reserved for other characters — treat the totals as an upper bound and adjust if you are mid-level on a target weapon.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do weapon breakthroughs work in Arknights: Endfield?
Each weapon has 6 breakthrough stages (Breakthrough 0 through Breakthrough 5). Each stage raises the level cap (typically +10 per stage, from 20 at B0 up to 70 at B5) and unlocks additional skill multiplier scaling. Materials required per breakthrough scale with weapon rarity: 4-star weapons need common essence and weapon components, 5-star weapons add rarer essence types, and 6-star limited weapons require boss-drop materials only available in specific endgame stages. The planner sums everything for the breakthroughs you target.
Where do I farm weapon breakthrough materials?
Common essence drops from world bosses and patrol stages. Mid-tier weapon components drop from the daily material rotation (specific category daily — e.g., 'Weapon Material Day' on Tuesday/Friday). High-tier breakthrough materials come from Hyrdrocross weekly bosses and the Joint Operations boss rotation. The planner shows total material counts, but doesn't pick the optimal farming stages — for that, cross-reference the materials list against the in-game material drop guide or the Endfield Hub farming guides.
Does the planner include level-up cost in addition to breakthrough cost?
Yes. Level-up XP costs (paid in weapon XP materials) are calculated for the level range each breakthrough opens — so a Breakthrough 3 target also includes XP materials to take the weapon from level 1 to its B3 cap. The planner doesn't currently track partial-level progress (you cannot say 'I'm already level 47'); it assumes you're starting from scratch and gives you the total. If you've already leveled the weapon, subtract your current progress from the listed totals.
How does this differ from a wishlist or the Operator Builds page?
The Weapon Progression Planner answers 'what do I need to farm?' — it's a material accountant for weapons you've already decided to invest in. The Operator Builds page answers 'which weapons should I invest in?' by ranking weapons by DPS for each operator. Use Operator Builds first to pick weapons; then add those weapons here to calculate the farming cost. The two tools pair naturally: builds page tells you the target, progression planner tells you the material bill.
Can I export my farming list to share or print?
Yes. The planner exports your remaining-material list in three formats: plain text (good for Discord paste), Markdown (renders nicely in Notion or GitHub gists), and CSV (opens directly in Google Sheets or Excel for further analysis). Owned-material counts are stored in browser localStorage so you can keep updating the planner as you farm without re-entering progress. Note that browser storage is device-specific — clear-data or browser switch resets the list.
