Typhoeus Best Teams: Who to Pair With Her
Table of Contents

Typhoeus is a 6-star Nature Striker who landed on the Winter Hunt banner on September 2, 2026, and unlike most limited operators, the interesting question about her is not what to put in her weapon slot. It is who stands next to her.

This post was first written from her skill text alone. It has now been rewritten against launch testing: single-target damage calculations for four full teams, tested builds for each partner, and a clearer picture of how her Signs are actually generated. The team-building logic survived. Some of the specific recommendations did not, and those are corrected below.

The logic starts with two lines in her kit. Every aerial attack that consumes a Nature Infliction stack gives her a Sign and Ultimate energy, and every Nature Burst anyone on the team triggers gives her another Sign. Eight Signs unlock her Combo Skill, which refills her Hunting Arrows, and the arrows are where her damage comes from. Read that backwards and her team requirement writes itself: someone has to keep putting stacks on the target.

We already covered her loadout in the Typhoeus build guide. This one is about the other three slots. For base stats, materials and the calculator, see her Typhoeus character page.

Update (September 2, 2026): Typhoeus is live and this guide has been rewritten against launch testing. The pairing tiers, the content table and the partner builds now follow measured team DPS for four full comps, Antal joins the applicator list, Liino joins the fourth slot, and there is a new section on how her Battle Skill handles the shield stacks on the new Snowy Forest enemies.

TL;DR - Key Points

  • Arcane is the core. Free Nature Infliction on her Combo and Ultimate, 22.8 percent Susceptibility, and she is in every top team.
  • Gilberta is the best second source. Free stack on her Ultimate, 30 to 42 percent Susceptibility, needs Delivery Guaranteed to cast twice per rotation.
  • Best team: Typhoeus, Arcane, Xaihi, Gilberta, which bursts the Effigy boss in about 30 seconds. Xaihi beats Liino for that seat because her Combo Skill drives Corrosion to tier 4.
  • Typhoeus, Arcane, Gilberta, Perlica posts the highest calculated single-target DPS at about 71K on a 57-second rotation, finishes within seconds of the Xaihi team, and is easier to pilot.
  • Fluorite is the free second source. Three free stacks per rotation to Gilberta’s two, no team buff, and the Fluorite version of the top team drops to about 56K.
  • Antal is the free Arcane. Qingbo set, Detonation Unit, pay his 100 SP Battle Skill once a minute for a stack on his Combo.
  • Ardelia stays the default free partner, but as a debuffer. Her Infliction costs 100 SP, so tested teams feed her that SP for a long debuff rather than relying on her for stacks.
  • More Nature is fine. Every team Nature Burst gives her a Sign. The old warning against stacking Nature operators was wrong.
  • Her Battle Skill strips the shield stacks on the new 1.5 enemies, so the team does not need a finisher operator for them.
  • Banner: Winter Hunt, Version 1.5 Phase 1, from September 2, 2026, with the Deep Cold Arsenal Issue weapon banner alongside it. Keep a 120-pull floor.

What Typhoeus Actually Needs From a Team

Her kit is two resources in sequence, and the team exists to top up the second one.

Hunting Arrows make Nature Bursts. She starts with 4. Every arrow-enhanced aerial attack fires a Nature Burst regardless of what is on the target, and the finisher of her Battle Skill is always a Powered Shot. Four arrows plus the finisher is 5 bursts.

Signs unlock the Combo Skill at 8. One Sign for every Nature Burst anyone on the team triggers, so a full volley is 5 Signs on its own. One more Sign, plus Ultimate energy, for every Nature Infliction stack her aerial attacks consume. When an arrow burst also consumes a stack, that burst deals 30 percent more.

The Combo Skill reloads her. Rampant Thorns drops the Barrage Array, a zone that deals continuous Nature damage, slows what stands in it, and raises Nature Burst damage taken by 10 percent. It spends her Signs, refills all 4 arrows and resets her aerial attack count. Her Ultimate hands back 2 more arrows and enters Hover without spending SP.

Typhoeus combo skill at eight Signs, dropping a Nature damage-over-time area that slows enemies

Rampant Thorns drops the Barrage Array and refills Hunting Arrows in the same cast.

So the arithmetic of a Typhoeus team is: her arrows supply 5 of the 8 Signs, and the team has to supply at least 2 consumed stacks per window to close the gap. Two stacks gets her to 8 with no buffed bursts. Four stacks gets her Combo Skill up before she needs another Battle Skill, with every burst in the next volley buffed. The more free stacks the team lands per window, the harder she hits, and that is the whole ranking below.

Her launch panel confirms Agility main, Will sub, which settles a pre-release question and has one team-building consequence: supports that buff ATK and elemental damage help her, and supports that buff Intellect do nothing for her.

Her Battle Skill vs the 1.5 Shield Stacks

Version 1.5’s Snowy Forest introduced witchcraft creations, listed in the patch notes as Woodcraft Slug and Woodcraft Wanderer, that carry shield stacks. You can see them as a lock icon over a segmented bar above each enemy. While the stacks are up the enemy is protected, and the normal way to clear them is a finisher, which means a team fighting them usually has to carry an operator whose job is to land one.

Typhoeus's Battle Skill stripping the shield stacks on Snowy Forest witchcraft creations, lock icon and segmented bar above each enemy

The segmented bars beside the lock icons are shield stacks. Typhoeus’s aerial attacks strip them without a finisher.

Typhoeus removes that requirement. Her Battle Skill strips the stacks as part of her normal aerial loop, so the target is exposed by the time her arrows are spent. For team-building that frees the fourth slot: in Snowy Forest content you do not need to hold a finisher-capable operator in reserve, and you can spend the seat on an applicator or a buffer instead. Our Snowy Forest and Gloomwald’s Rage prep guide covers the zone.

Ardelia: The Default Partner

If you build exactly one partner and own no limited supports, Ardelia is still the sensible one. She applies Corrosion, she heals, and she is free with a free 6-star Arts Unit, so she covers a sustain slot and a Nature slot in one seat at close to zero cost.

What launch testing changed is how the top teams use her. Her Nature Infliction comes from her Battle Skill, which costs 100 SP, so she is not a free stack source the way Arcane, Gilberta, Fluorite and Antal are. The tested team that runs her, Typhoeus, Arcane, Ardelia, Liino, treats her the way the other teams treat Perlica: feed her 100 SP for a massive, long-duration debuff, and let Liino supply Electric during her Ultimate so the two do not overlap. That team posts about 69K single-target team DPS on a 75-second rotation, only a step behind the Gilberta version, and it scales harder in multi-target fights because more targets feed Typhoeus more Ultimate energy.

Tested build: Dreams of the Starry Beach (about 4 percent team damage from P0 to P5), Eternal Xiranite Armor, Hot Work Gloves and two Hot Work Power Cartridges. Hot Work is there for its Arts Intensity, and her own Ultimate is not needed in the rotation. If you were planning Hot Work for Typhoeus herself, this is where the set actually goes.

The honest limitation is unchanged: she does not group, she does not apply stacks for free, and she does not solve anything at the very top end. She is the floor, and it is a good floor.

Gilberta and Why Grouping Pays Double

Gilberta is the partner who moves Typhoeus from working to winning.

Typhoeus fights from above and drops a fixed zone. The Barrage Array covers ground, and her Ultimate energy scales with how many targets each aerial attack lands on. Every one of those is a per-enemy payout that scales with how many bodies occupy the same space. Gilberta pulls enemies together, which means the Array catches more of them, the slow lands on more of them, and Typhoeus charges her Ultimate faster.

Typhoeus ultimate, dealing area Nature damage then hovering and calling down Hail of Arrows strikes

Where enemies stand decides how much of her area damage connects, and how fast her Ultimate charges.

On top of the grouping, Gilberta applies a free Nature Infliction stack on her Ultimate, more with her 100 SP Battle Skill, and the strongest Arts Susceptibility in the game at 30 to 42 percent. She also has high stagger, which matters in any content that does let you burst inside stagger windows. Our Gilberta best-teams breakdown covers who else she enables.

Tested build: because the rotation uses two Gilberta Ultimates, an Ultimate Gain weapon is mandatory. Delivery Guaranteed is a little over 10 percent team damage ahead of Monaihe (100 to 109 percent from P0 to P5 against Monaihe’s 88). Gear is Eternal Xiranite Light Armor, Eternal Xiranite Wraps and two Eternal Xiranite Auxiliary Arms, all Ultimate Efficiency pieces. Off-set Redeemer pieces add a little Ultimate Gain but do not cross any breakpoint, so the set is kept for its stats.

The catch is availability. Gilberta is a 6-star you either have or do not, and the closest substitute is Fluorite.

Arcane: The Core of Every Top Team

If there is one operator this guide tells you to own, it is Arcane.

She puts a free Nature Infliction stack on her Combo Skill and on her Ultimate, more on her 100 SP Battle Skill, and applies 22.8 percent Susceptibility, with further debuffs available through her signature or Detonation Unit. Every top team runs her, and the gap between teams with her and teams without her is the largest single gap in the testing: the Gilberta, Fluorite, Perlica team without Arcane sits near 47K against 71K for the same team with Arcane replacing Fluorite’s role.

Tested build: Type 42: Solemn Phalanx is the reference at 100 percent team damage (111 at P5), Detonation Unit is nearly level at 97 (104), and Junction Point trails at 90 (93), so the Protocol Pass weapon is not recommended here. Gear is Eternal Xiranite Light Armor, Eternal Xiranite Wraps, Eternal Xiranite Bracing Slab, and an AIC Fieldwork Flashlight as the fourth piece, which reaches the 640 Will threshold for her maximum debuffs while giving a little more ATK than a second Slab. If she is holding Detonation Unit, swap the Flashlight for an Eternal Xiranite Auxiliary Arm, because that weapon has no Ultimate Gain and she needs to make it up somewhere. Our Arcane build guide has the stance rules.

The cost is a slot with no healing in it. Run her with a dedicated sustain in the fourth seat or accept that you are dodging.

The Free Answers: Fluorite, Antal and Purrchena

You do not need a limited operator to make Typhoeus work, and the tested teams prove it.

Fluorite applies a free stack on her Combo Skill and her Ultimate, plus more on her 100 SP Battle Skill. Across a rotation she supplies three free stacks to Gilberta’s two, at the cost of no team buffing, a long combo cooldown, and a delayed application on her Battle Skill that you learn to cast early. Swapping her in for Gilberta takes the top team from about 71K to about 56K, which is still a fully functional Typhoeus. Tested build: OBJ Velocitous for Ultimate Gain (her P0 to P5 difference is under 1 percent, so do not spend on her), and she needs 52.5 percent Ultimate Gain in total: Type 50 Yinglung Heavy Armor T1, Type 50 Yinglung Gloves, Type 50 Yinglung Radar T2 and a Redeemer Seal with an enhanced essence on the weapon. If you refuse to invest, Yinglung Heavy Armor T1, Yinglung Gloves and two unartificed Redeemer Seals also clear the threshold.

Antal is Arcane at home. His Combo Skill applies a Nature Infliction stack, but only after you pay his 100 SP Battle Skill, which you do once at the start of each rotation. Tested build: Detonation Unit for the debuffs (100 to 108 percent team damage from P0 to P5), and Qingbo Heavy Armor, Qingbo Cask and Qingbo Gloves for the Combo cooldown reduction, with a Redeemer Seal as the fourth piece. Ultimate Gain is optional on him because his Ultimate only helps himself and Perlica. Open with his Battle Skill, then Fluorite’s Battle Skill, and you have two stacks on the target, exactly the opening Arcane would give.

Purrchena arrives September 24, 2026 in Phase 2, free at max potential. Her Battle Skill recasts for zero SP after a set period, and that recast applies Nature Infliction. On paper she is a fifth free stack source attached to a Defender who shields the team. She was not part of the launch testing, so treat her as promising rather than proven. Our Purrchena build guide covers her gear, and her team building breakdown covers the Nature shell from her side.

Zhuang Fangyi and the All-Ranged Shell

Zhuang Fangyi is also a Striker, also holds an Arts Unit, and also fights at 10.0m, and the pairing gets recommended on that surface similarity. As positioning it is comfortable: nothing walks into melee. As a comp it is not in any tested team, because Zhuang Fangyi applies Electric and feeds Typhoeus nothing. If you run the pair, the third slot has to be Arcane or another stack source, and her full rotation guide lines up the two damage windows.

The Fourth Slot: Xaihi, Perlica, Liino

Once the stack sources are settled, the last seat is where the ranking actually gets decided.

Xaihi is the pick in the fastest team, and the update that moved this page. She was filed as untested here on launch day, on the reasoning that she brought comfort rather than damage. That was wrong. Her Combo Skill applies Inflictions fast enough to drive Corrosion to tier 4, which is the specific thing Liino cannot do, and she pairs it with Amp values in Liino’s class out of a 5-star body. A team of Typhoeus, Arcane, Xaihi and Gilberta bursts the Effigy boss in about 30 seconds, which is the fastest clear anyone has posted with her. The one thing to watch is that Xaihi and Ardelia fight each other: Ardelia’s Combo Skill overwrites the higher-level Corrosion Xaihi is building, so pick one.

Perlica is the pick in three of the four tested teams. Her SP generation keeps Arcane’s 100 SP Battle Skill and Typhoeus’s loop moving, and her Combo adds Electric. Tested build: Stanza of Memorials (100 to 103 percent from P0 to P5, and nothing else is worth it given her low personal damage here), Pulser Labs Disruptor Suit and two Pulser Labs Calibrators for Arts Intensity, and Eternal Xiranite Gloves T1 for a little Ultimate Gain.

Liino is the pick next to Ardelia. She supplies Electric during Ardelia’s Ultimate and her own Ultimate carries a Nature Amp that the Will-max build pushes as high as it goes. Tested build: Bedazzling Night Debut is around 10 percent team damage ahead of her Protocol Pass weapon Golden Age (100 to 111 against 91 to 95). Gear is Eternal Xiranite Light Armor, two LYNX Slabs and Lynx Gauntlets T1. The LYNX set effect is irrelevant, the pieces just carry the right stats, and for a faster rotation one Slab can become an Eternal Xiranite Auxiliary Arm. Our Liino build guide has the rest.

She also still does the job she was already known for: dedicated Cryo healing, and Cryo Susceptibility on a multiplier nothing in the Nature package touches.

The one thing to avoid in this seat is a second damage carry that competes for field time. Typhoeus wants to be the operator you are controlling during her hover windows, because her aerial attacks only exist while she is airborne.

Teams by Content Type

Read this table with one thing in mind, because it is the reason the top two rows are ordered the way they are. Team DPS and clear time are different measurements. The DPS figures below are single-target calculations using all signature weapons, 6-stars at P0 and 5-stars at P5, and they ignore stagger multipliers on purpose, because Contingency Contract rarely lets you burst inside a stagger window. A team can post a lower calculated DPS and still finish the fight first. That is exactly what happens at the top of this list.

TeamTeam DPSRotationBest for
Typhoeus . Arcane . Xaihi . Gilbertanot calculated~30s Effigy burstThe team to build. Fastest tested clear, highest sustained damage
Typhoeus . Arcane . Gilberta . Perlica~71K57sHighest calculated single-target DPS. Finishes within seconds of the above, easier to pilot
Typhoeus . Arcane . Ardelia . Liino~69K75sMulti-target fights, where extra energy shortens the long rotation
Typhoeus . Arcane . Fluorite . Perlica~56K55sArcane owners without Gilberta
Typhoeus . Gilberta . Fluorite . Perlica~47K65sGilberta owners without Arcane
Typhoeus . Antal . Fluorite . flexuntestedRosters with no 6-star supports. Same rotation shape, Ardelia is the natural flex

Two lessons come out of this table.

The first is that the drop from 71K to 47K is almost entirely Arcane. Every other swap moves the number a little; removing Arcane moves it a lot.

The second is the one that changed since launch day. The Xaihi team is not on the DPS list because nobody has published a calculation for it, only a timed clear, and we are not going to invent a number to fill the cell. What the timed clear shows is that it finishes ahead of the 71K team. If you own Xaihi, build that one. If you own Perlica and not Xaihi, the gap is seconds, and the Perlica rotation is more forgiving.

Who to Build Now

  • F2P and light spender: Build Fluorite and Antal, keep Ardelia, and mark September 24 for Purrchena. All of them are free and the rotation shape is the same as the top team.
  • Arcane owner: You already have the core. Gear her toward the 640 Will threshold and give Gilberta or Fluorite the second seat.
  • Xaihi owner: Build her. She is the cheapest upgrade on this page, a 5-star who takes the fourth seat in the fastest team off the back of tier-4 Corrosion, and she needs no limited pull. Just do not field her alongside Ardelia.
  • Gilberta owner: Get Delivery Guaranteed on her and stack Eternal Xiranite Ultimate Efficiency pieces. She casts twice per rotation next to Typhoeus.
  • Zhuang Fangyi player: Do not assume the Arts Unit overlap means synergy. Build a stack source before anything else.
  • Whale: Umbra of Frigid Eventide from Deep Cold Arsenal Issue, then Arcane and Gilberta with their signatures, plus a fully built Xaihi for the fastest team and Perlica for the highest-DPS one. Check your Oroberyl against the 120-pull floor with our pity calculator before you commit to both banners.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Relying on Ardelia for stacks. Her Nature Infliction costs 100 SP. Use her as the debuffer and let Arcane, Gilberta, Fluorite or Antal supply the free stacks.
  • Running Gilberta without an Ultimate Gain weapon. The rotation needs two Gilberta Ultimates. Delivery Guaranteed or, failing that, Monaihe.
  • Delaying Typhoeus’s first Combo Skill. Waiting for stacks to buff two bursts costs you energy and four whole bursts. Take the reload when it comes.
  • Treating the greatbow as a new weapon class. She equips an Arts Unit. Everything already in that pool is legal on her.
  • Building the team around damage buffs instead of stack sources. A support who adds 20 percent damage does less for her than one who lands two more free stacks per window.
  • Playing her from the ground. Aerial attacks are the entire engine, and hovering evades ground attacks. Cancel the landing animation and get back up.
  • Holding a finisher operator for the Snowy Forest enemies. Typhoeus strips their shield stacks herself. Spend the seat on something else.

What Launch Testing Does Not Cover

  1. Stagger multipliers. All figures leave them out. Content that rewards bursting inside stagger windows will favour Gilberta’s high stagger more than the table shows.
  2. Purrchena’s real recast timing. Her free Nature Infliction recast has not been measured in a Typhoeus rotation. If it is fast, she could displace Fluorite in the free team.
  3. Purrchena and the free healers. Purrchena is not out until September 24 and no team here has been tested with her.
  4. Multi-target scaling. Typhoeus’s Ultimate energy scales with targets hit, so every AoE number should sit above the single-target figures here, and the Ardelia and Liino team should gain the most.

Final Verdict

Typhoeus is the rare limited operator whose team-building question has a clean, measured answer. Run Arcane. Then add Gilberta if you have her and Fluorite if you do not. For the last seat, Xaihi is the pick if you own her, because her tier-4 Corrosion is what the fastest tested team is built on; Perlica is seconds behind and more forgiving to play. Either way you are running the best team in the current testing.

If you own Arcane but want the simpler rotation, Ardelia and Liino get you within a couple of percent on a longer loop and scale better with more enemies. If you own nothing limited, Antal and Fluorite run the exact same rotation shape for free, and Ardelia stays the sensible flex.

The instinct to correct from the pre-release version is the fear of over-committing to Nature. Every Nature Burst on the team feeds her a Sign, so more Nature applicators mean more buffed bursts, not competition. Pick your stack sources, keep her in the air, and let her Battle Skill handle the shields.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the best teammate for Typhoeus in Arknights: Endfield? Arcane. She puts a free Nature Infliction stack on the target with her Combo Skill and her Ultimate, adds 22.8 percent Susceptibility, and appears in every top Typhoeus team. Gilberta is the best second source, Fluorite is the free one, and Ardelia remains the default free partner for accounts without either, with the caveat that her Infliction costs 100 SP.

Does Typhoeus need a Nature teammate to function? She needs Nature Infliction stacks to consume. Her own Hunting Arrows guarantee 5 Signs per volley, and she needs at least 2 consumed stacks per window to reach the 8 that unlock her Combo Skill. A teammate who applies stacks for free off a Combo or Ultimate keeps the loop running; without one the loop stalls between volleys.

Can I run two Nature operators alongside Typhoeus? Yes, and the top team does. Every Nature Burst anyone on the team triggers gives Typhoeus a Sign, and every extra Infliction stack in a window is another buffed burst for her. Typhoeus, Arcane, Gilberta and Perlica is the highest-DPS team tested, with two Nature applicators feeding her.

Is Ardelia or Gilberta better with Typhoeus? Gilberta, in the top team. She applies a free stack on her Ultimate, adds 30 to 42 percent Susceptibility, and needs an Ultimate Gain weapon to cast twice per rotation. Ardelia’s Infliction is gated behind her 100 SP Battle Skill, so tested teams use her as a debuffer instead: Typhoeus, Arcane, Ardelia and Liino posts about 69K team DPS, just behind the Gilberta team.

What is the highest-DPS Typhoeus team? Typhoeus, Arcane, Xaihi and Gilberta is the team to build. It posts the fastest tested clear, bursting the Effigy boss in about 30 seconds, and Xaihi holds that seat over Liino because her Combo Skill drives Corrosion to tier 4. Typhoeus, Arcane, Gilberta and Perlica has the highest calculated single-target DPS at about 71K on a 57-second rotation and finishes within seconds of it, so either is a correct answer. Swapping Fluorite for Gilberta drops to about 56K, and the no-Arcane team of Gilberta, Fluorite and Perlica lands near 47K.

Does Purrchena work with Typhoeus? On paper, yes. Purrchena’s free Battle Skill recast applies Nature Infliction, which is what Typhoeus consumes for bonus Signs. She arrives free on September 24, 2026 in Phase 2, three weeks after the Winter Hunt banner, and she was not part of the launch testing, so treat her as an untested fifth source.

What is the best free team for Typhoeus? Typhoeus, Antal and Fluorite plus a flex slot. Antal on the Qingbo set with Detonation Unit plays the Arcane role, applying a stack on his Combo once you pay his 100 SP Battle Skill each rotation, and Fluorite adds stacks on her Combo and Ultimate. Ardelia remains a fine flex pick for healing and debuffs.

Should Typhoeus be the operator you control? Yes, during her hover windows. Her aerial attacks only happen while she is airborne, and hovering evades ground attacks, so time on her is both damage and defense. Dodge-cancel her last basic attack and cancel her landing animation, then swap out to reapply Nature Infliction while her Battle Skill is on cooldown.

Does Typhoeus handle the shielded Snowy Forest enemies? Yes. The new witchcraft creations carry shield stacks, shown as a lock icon over a segmented bar, and most operators need a finisher to clear them. Typhoeus’s Battle Skill strips the stacks during her normal aerial loop, so her team does not need to reserve a finisher operator for them.

What attribute does Typhoeus scale on? Agility, with Will as the sub, confirmed on her launch stat panel. It matches the Agility Boost line on Umbra of Frigid Eventide. For team-building it means supports that buff ATK and elemental damage help her and supports that buff Intellect do nothing for her.

When does Typhoeus release? September 2, 2026 at 12:00 AM UTC+8, which is the evening of September 1 in the Americas. She headlines the Winter Hunt banner in Phase 1 of Version 1.5, Dreamscape of Wind and Snow.
