BLOOD DEBASED STAGE 5: IMBUED QUILLBEAST STRATEGY | ENDFIELD
Table of Contents
So Turbidity Manifest finally dropped today, and Stage 5 is the one everyone is going to bounce off first. Blood Debased sounds metal, looks metal, and honestly plays meaner than it has any right to. The Imbued Quillbeast does not just hit you — it floods the arena with adds while you’re trying to do anything productive.
Here’s the rundown on how to clear it without rage-restarting six times. For the full enemy roster and resistance tables on this and every other Umbral stage, see the Umbral Monument Database.
TL;DR - Key Points
- Boss: Imbued Quillbeast, summons regular Quillbeasts on a timer and even more at low HP
- Normal Mode: Recommended Lv. 60 — manageable if your DPS hits hard
- Agony Mode: Lv. 90, no tacticals, no consumables — pure roster check
- Resistance: Same against every element, so play whatever team is best built
- Best teams: Zhuang Fangyi Electric (AoE king), Yvonne Cryo (freeze cheese), Laevatain Heat (burn it all down)
- Core strat: Tunnel the boss, let AoE clean the adds, save SP for interrupts on the lava charge
- Pro move: Position so the boss’s body blocks the regular Quillbeasts’ projectiles

Blood Debased Stage 5 is arguably the most cursed Umbral Monument stage ever created… unless you understand one simple rule:
🐸 THE RED FROGGO MUST DIE. 🐸
The moment you enter, it turns into a full-blown meme: two froggos bouncing around like they just drank 14 cans of energy drink, launching themselves across the arena and absolutely violating your HP bar.
The Viral Froggo Survival Strategy™
- 💉 Bring your BEST heals.
- 💥 Bring your BIGGEST nukes.
- 🔴 LOCK ON the red froggo and never lose sight.
- 🌋 Interrupt it the second it tries to spew lava.
- 🟢 Ignore the green froggo at first.
- ☢️ Your AoE nukes will eventually delete the green one as collateral damage anyway.
This stage stops being “skill-based combat” and starts becoming:
“Can you survive getting bounced like a pinball long enough to vaporize the red frog?”

What You’re Walking Into
The flavor text calls them creatures that “gorged themselves upon the filth of the lands till they burst and spill their thick, fetid blood.” Cool. What that translates to in gameplay is a chunky boss that constantly spawns trash, and below a certain HP threshold the spawn rate cranks up another notch. If you haven’t yet — start with the Turbidity Manifest Umbral Monument overview for the full stage list, prep checklist, and reward layout before diving into this fight.
| Mode | Difficulty | Twist |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Lv. 60 | Stronger enemies, Imbued Quillbeast summons regularly |
| Agony | Lv. 90 | Same as above, plus no tacticals or consumables |
Both modes share the equal-resistance rule, which is great news. You don’t need to scramble for an off-element team — your most invested squad is your best squad.
Enemy Resistance Cheat Sheet
| Enemy | Physical | Heat | Cryo | Electric | Nature |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quillbeast | D | C | D | C | D |
| Imbued Quillbeast | D | C | D | C | D |
Heat and Electric pick up a slight C-tier resistance, but it’s marginal — if your Heat or Electric team is fully built, the resistance bump is not killing your run. Pick what you’ve invested in.
Best Teams for Blood Debased
Zhuang Fangyi Flex Team (Electric AoE)
| Support | Main DPS | SP Gen. | Flex |
|---|---|---|---|
| Perlica | Zhuang Fangyi | Arclight | Antal or Alesh |
This is the one. Fangyi’s high-stack AoE attacks turn the constant Quillbeast spam from a problem into free damage stacks on the boss. Group up the trash, drop a fully stacked rotation, and the regular Quillbeasts evaporate while you chip the Imbued Quillbeast at the same time.
Roles:
- Perlica + Arclight keep Electric Inflictions flowing and SP topped up
- Antal for buff/debuff support if you need more boss-killing pressure
- Alesh if you’d rather have extra SP generation and a smoother rotation
If you’ve been building toward Fangyi, this stage is basically her audition tape.
Yvonne Solidification Team (Cryo Freeze)
| Main DPS | Sustain | Support | Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yvonne | Xaihi | Gilberta | Tangtang |
The “I don’t want to get hit” comp. Solidification on the Quillbeasts means they’re not attacking you, which means you’re free to actually aim your Yvonne ults instead of dodging trash mob projectiles every two seconds.
Why it works:
- Xaihi + Gilberta stack buffs and debuffs to maximize Yvonne’s burst windows
- Tangtang brings the AoE crowd-control so Yvonne can ult uninterrupted
- Cryo loop keeps adds locked down while you focus the Imbued Quillbeast
This one’s especially solid for Agony where one wrong dodge in melee range can spiral fast.
Laevatain Heat Team (Burn Everything)
| Main DPS | SP Gen. | Sub-DPS | Sustain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Laevatain | Akekuri | Wulfgard | Ardelia |
The straightforward brute force comp. Laevatain’s massive AoE damage doesn’t really care about how many adds the boss summons — they’re all in the radius.
Roles:
- Wulfgard + Akekuri ramp Laevatain’s stacks and accelerate her ult timer
- Ardelia keeps you alive when the spawn rate spikes at low boss HP
- The C-tier Heat resistance is a small tax, not a dealbreaker
If your account leans Heat, this clears clean.
How to Actually Beat It
Tunnel Vision the Imbued Quillbeast
The trap on this stage is treating it like an add-clear room. Don’t. The regular Quillbeasts have low HP and die to AoE splash anyway. If you keep your crosshair on the boss and let your AoE handle the trash, both problems solve themselves.
Switching targets to chase Quillbeasts wastes your damage cycles and gives the boss room to charge its big attacks. Stay on the Imbued.
Save SP for the Lava Spit
The Imbued Quillbeast’s tell is obvious — it inflates its stomach to charge a lava spit. This is the interrupt window.
Hitting it during the charge:
- Deals massive Stagger
- Helps end its Enraged state faster
- Stops the lava attack cold
Burning your skills on trash means you don’t have them ready for this. Hold your SP, watch for the inflate animation, and dump everything when it charges.
Use the Boss as a Shield
This is the play that separates clean clears from messy ones. The regular Quillbeasts shoot projectiles. The boss is enormous. Position yourself so the Imbued Quillbeast is between you and its own minions — its body soaks the projectiles for you.
You save SP that would’ve gone toward dodging, you avoid chip damage, and you keep DPS uptime on the only target that actually matters. Free real estate.
Agony Mode Notes
The only Agony-specific addition is no tacticals or consumables. That’s it.
Practically though, that means:
- No emergency healing potions
- No tactical buffs to push through HP checks
- Zero margin for sloppy positioning
If your Normal clear leaned on consumables, your Agony run is going to feel rough. Plug those holes with a healer (Ardelia) or a sustain-via-control comp (Yvonne Cryo) instead of expecting items to bail you out.
Final Word
Blood Debased is one of those stages where the mechanic sounds annoying — endless adds, low-HP spawn spike — and then you realize the whole thing is solved by playing AoE and ignoring the trash. Lock onto the boss, save SP for the inflate, and let your team’s AoE do the cleanup.
Get your trimmed medal and move on. Stage 6 is waiting, and it brings its own flavor of pain.
