Term Definitions
- Good Match
- An Artificing upgrade attempt where the sacrificial fodder gear has a strictly higher base substat value than the target piece's substat being upgraded. A Good Match raises the success rate from approximately 30–40% to 60–70%. Required reading for any non-pity Artificing attempt in Arknights: Endfield.
- T4 Fodder
- A Tier 4, Rarity 5 (Gold) gear piece used as a sacrifice during an Artificing upgrade. Endfield gear stats are fixed (no RNG rolls), so the cheapest piece with the right base substat value is mathematically equivalent to the most expensive one, only craft cost should distinguish them.
- Wuling Stock Bill
- The primary currency used to craft T4 gear at Wuling outposts in Arknights: Endfield. Recycling unwanted T4 pieces returns Wuling Stock Bills, creating a closed-loop economy where bad fodder funds better fodder. The bottleneck currency for most F2P Artificing strategies.
- Wuling Artificing Catalyst
- The consumable item required for every Artificing upgrade attempt. Sourced from the Stock Redistribution Terminal weekly shop and from elastic trading. One catalyst is consumed per attempt, regardless of success or failure (pity progress accrues either way).
- Advanced Gear Assembly Techniques
- The patch 1.4 system that lets every gold-quality T4 recipe be crafted with any assembly technique you have unlocked. The default techniques pair Xiranite, Cuprium, or Hetonite Components with 8,000 to 25,000 Stock Bill price tags, while the latest Pyrrolite technique grants a 99% Stock Bill discount on the same pieces. Techniques can be previewed, bulk-changed, or customized per piece in Gear Assembly under Switch All Techniques.
- Pyrrolite Component
- The component consumed by the latest assembly technique, unlocked via the story mission 'Stubbornly Lingers the Setting Sun'. Pyrrolite recipes craft standard T4 gear for 80 to 250 Stock Bills (a 99% discount versus the 8,000 to 25,000 bill default recipes), and the newest T4.3 pieces require 50 Pyrrolite Components plus 360 bills with no alternative technique. Since patch 1.4 this is the component that funds nearly all fodder crafting.
- Xiranite Component
- The lowest-tier crafting component, paired with default T4 recipes priced around 8,000 Stock Bills. Since patch 1.4's assembly techniques, the Pyrrolite technique crafts the same pieces for 80 bills, so Xiranite recipes are mainly relevant to accounts that have not yet unlocked the latest technique.
- Cuprium Component
- The mid-tier crafting component in Arknights: Endfield, paired with default T4 recipes priced around 16,000 Stock Bills. Post-patch 1.4, the Pyrrolite technique undercuts it at 160 bills for the same pieces; the planner prices every piece at its cheapest unlocked technique.
- Hetonite Component
- The premium crafting component, paired with default T4 recipes priced around 25,000 Stock Bills. Post-patch 1.4, the Pyrrolite technique crafts the same pieces for 250 bills, so Hetonite pricing only applies to accounts without the technique unlock.
- Pity
- The guaranteed-success counter that triggers after a fixed number of failed Artificing attempts. Dual Stat and Special Stat substats guarantee success at 6, 12, and 20 attempts for substat levels +1, +2, and +3. Single Stat substats guarantee success at 12, 24, and 40 attempts. Worst-case max-out on a single substat: 38–76 catalysts.
- Tied-Stat Tiebreaker
- An algorithm in the Endfield Hub Artificing Planner that resolves duplicate base substat values by surfacing the cheapest craftable piece, priced at its cheapest assembly technique, as the canonical Best Pick. Pieces tied at the highest base value but with higher craft cost are tagged 'Tied stat · pricier' so you can save Stock Bills and components for gear that genuinely needs them.
- Best Pick
- The Artificing Planner's recommendation badge, awarded to the gear piece with the highest base value for the target substat AND the lowest craft cost among ties, with every cost priced at the cheapest assembly technique after the patch 1.4 Pyrrolite discount. The Best Pick is always a guaranteed Good Match for the target piece and minimizes Wuling Stock Bill spend.
- Pyrrolite-Only Recipe
- A T4 gear piece whose recipe accepts only the latest Pyrrolite assembly technique: 360 Stock Bills plus 50 Pyrrolite Components, with no default-technique fallback. Applies to the 23 T4.3 pieces: the Deep Rampart set, the Rift Trekker line, and the latest Eternal Xiranite, Tide Surge, LYNX, and Hot Work variants. The Artificing Planner flags these with a 'Pyrrolite only' badge.
- Drop-Only Recipe
- A T4 gear piece with no known craft recipe, obtainable only as a drop. Since the patch 1.4 assembly technique data landed, every current T4 piece has at least one recipe, so the Artificing Planner's 'Drop-only' tag is reserved for future gear that ships without one.
- Substat Enhancement
- The act of increasing one of a T4 gear piece's three substats by one level (+1, +2, or +3) through the Artificing system. Each piece supports up to 9 total enhancement levels (3 substats × 3 levels). Endfield's substat enhancements are guaranteed to succeed once pity is reached, in contrast to gacha equipment systems that rely on permanent RNG rolls.
