Table of Contents

TL;DR - Key Points

  • 8 modules total — Sandleaf, Carbon, Cuprium, Xircon, Battery, Xiranite Parts, Heavy Xiranite, and Hetonite
  • Zone assignments matter — Wuling City for water access, Qingbo Stockade for Sandleaf, Marker Stone for acid
  • Waste management critical — 4 lines of Inert Effluent must be purified or the system clogs
  • Xiranite Gourd event adjustment — Move Heavy Xiranite Forge to make normal Xiranite, handle excess effluent
  • All Forges of the Sky accounted for — 8 total, distributed across Xircon, Xiranite Parts, and Heavy Xiranite modules
  • Overlapping dependencies — Multiple modules share inputs from Cuprium, Carbon, and Sewage lines
  • Self-sustaining Sandleaf — No depot needed, produces enough for 16+7=23 grinders at max capacity

Overview

Building a factory in Wuling and Valley 4 is significantly more complex than earlier regions due to overlapping resource dependencies and zone-specific liquid access. This guide breaks down the complete modular factory design for players who want to build from scratch rather than using blueprints.

The design centers around 8 discrete modules, each with a specific purpose. Understanding what each module needs and produces is essential for managing the complex web of dependencies.

Zone Assignments

Different zones have access to different resources. Place modules strategically:

ZoneModulesKey Resource
Wuling CityCarbon, Cuprium, Xircon, Xiranite PartsWater access (lots of it)
Qingbo StockadeSandleaf, BatteryOpen space for farming
Marker StoneHetonite, Heavy XiraniteAcid from pool

Module Breakdown

Basic Resource Requirements

Before diving into modules, here are the global resource counts you are working with:

  • 8 Forges of the Sky
  • 6 lines of Cuprium
  • 3 lines of Ferrium
  • 16 lines of Originium
  • 5/6ths of a line of Dense Originium Powder (via transmission from Valley 4)

Sandleaf Module

Location: Qingbo Stockade

Purpose: Self-sustaining fuel production for Carbon module

Requirements:

  • No depot needed (self-sustaining)
  • Must produce enough Sandleaf to fuel 16+7=23 grinders when making Xiranite at max capacity
  • In practice, build for 24 grinders

Build:

  • 16 Planting Units
  • 8 Seeding Units
  • Shredders either here or with the grinders

Carbon Module

Location: Wuling City

Purpose: Produces Stabilized Carbon for Xircon and Heavy Xiranite modules

Requirements:

  • Needs Sandleaf inputs from Sandleaf Module
  • Must produce 16 lines of Stabilized Carbon (16 Grinding Units)

Build (for every 2 Grinding Units):

  • 1 Planting Unit (wet)
  • 1 Seeding Unit
  • 1 Shredder
  • 4 Refiners (2 before and 2 after)
  • 2 lines of Sandleaf Powder

Cuprium Module

Location: Wuling City

Purpose: Processes Cuprium Ore into powder and manages sewage distribution

Input: 6 lines of Cuprium Ore

Build:

  • 6 Refining Units (Cuprium)
    • 4 of the Sewage must go to the Xircon Module
    • 2 of the Sewage goes to waste disposal
  • 4 Shredders (Cuprium Powder)
    • 4 lines of Cuprium Powder goes to Hetonite Module
  • 2 Cuprium leftover can be used to make a half-speed Xircon Syringe setup, or stored as Parts/Bottles/etc

Xircon Module

Location: Wuling City

Purpose: Produces Xircon and Xircon Effluent using Forges of the Sky

Requirements:

  • To make 2 lines of Xircon at speed, need 4 Forges of the Sky
  • Each Forge needs 2 lines of Stabilized Carbon

Build:

  • 8 lines of Stabilized Carbon (from Carbon Module)
  • 4 Forges of the Sky
  • 4 Reactor Crucibles (Liquid Xiranite)
  • 4 lines of Sewage (from Cuprium)
  • 2 lines of Ferrium Ore
    • Refining: 2 lines of Ferrium
    • Shredding: 2 lines of Ferrium Powder

Outputs:

  • 2 lines of Xircon
  • Sewage waste
  • 4 lines of Inert Effluent
    • Critical: Take these 4 lines and put them into a Purifying Unit
    • This gives 1 line of Xircon Effluent, which can be used in the Heavy Xiranite Module

Battery Module

Location: Qingbo Stockade

Purpose: Produces Xircon SP Batteries

Requirements:

  • Each battery line takes 4 lines of Dense Originium Powder and 1 line of Xircon
  • You get 25/min of Dense Originium Powder due to favorable transfer rate from Valley 4 metastorage

Build:

  • 14 Shredders (Originium Powder)
  • 7 Grinding Units
  • 7 lines of Sandleaf Powder

Output:

  • Roughly 2 lines of Xiranite SP Batteries

Note: Take the 7 and 5/6th of a line of Dense Originium Powder, take 2 lines of Xircon from the depot (via Xircon Module), and make 2 lines of Xircon Batteries.

Xiranite Parts Module

Location: Wuling City

Purpose: Produces Xiranite Components using saved Dense Originium Powder

Context: Thanks to saving one line of Dense Originium Powder in the Battery Module, you have two lines of Originium Ore to use.

Build:

  • 1 Forge of the Sky (to make the Xiranite for it)
  • 2 lines of Stabilized Carbon
  • 1 Forge of the Sky
  • 2 Refiners (Origocrust)
  • 2 Shredders (Origocrust Powder)
  • 1 Grinding Unit (Dense Origocrust Powder)
  • 1 line of Sandleaf Powder
  • 1 Refiner (Packed Origocrust)
  • 1 Gearing Unit (Xiranite Part)

Output: 1/2 line of Xiranite Components

Note: With this, you are done with Originium.

Heavy Xiranite Module

Location: Marker Stone (needs acid access)

Purpose: Produces Heavy Xiranite using the last Forge of the Sky

Context: You have used 5 of your Forges of the Sky so far (4 in Xircon, 1 in Xiranite Parts) and have a full-speed line of Xircon Effluent from the Xircon Module purifying excess waste.

Build:

  • 4 lines of Stabilized Carbon
  • 2 Forges of the Sky (Xiranite)
  • 1 line of Xircon Effluent (from Xircon Module purification)
    • If not in the same PAC, transfer via Filling Unit with the Xircon Module and a Separating Unit here
  • 1 Forge of the Sky (Heavy Xiranite)

Note: This uses the last of your Forges of the Sky. You are now done with Xiranite, Carbon, and Effluent.

Hetonite Module

Location: Marker Stone

Purpose: Produces Hetonite Solution and Hetonite for Xiranite Parts

Requirement: This module MUST be in the Marker Stone area because it uses acid.

Build:

  • 4 lines of Acid from pool
  • 4 lines of Cuprium Powder from Cuprium Module (go into 4 Reactor Crucibles)
    • These must be done individually, as the Expanded Reactor cannot do two of the same recipe at once
  • Outputs go into 1 Purification Unit, giving Hetonite Solution
  • 1 line of Ferrium Ore
    • Refining: 1 line of Ferrium
    • Shredding: 1 line of Ferrium Powder
  • 1 line of Ferrium Powder and 1 line of Hetonite Solution goes into Reactor Crucible, giving 1 line each of Hetonite and Sewage
    • Sewage goes to waste
  • 1 line of Hetonite goes to Fitting Unit, which can then go to Gearing Unit with Heavy Xiranite, or stored

AIC Event: Xiranite Gourds Adjustment

For the current AIC event (Xiranite Gourds), you need to modify the setup:

  1. Move the Heavy Xiranite Forge — Take the Forge of the Sky used for Heavy Xiranite and move it somewhere to make normal Xiranite
  2. Handle the waste — Sort out all the waste from the Xircon Module because you are no longer able to use the four lines of Inert Effluent in a purification unit (it will just clog the whole system otherwise)

This adjustment allows you to redirect production toward event-specific needs while maintaining factory stability.

Key Takeaways for Self-Builders

  1. Start with Sandleaf — It is self-sustaining and feeds everything else
  2. Zone placement is critical — Water access in Wuling City, acid at Marker Stone
  3. Track your Forges — Only 8 total, distributed across 3 modules
  4. Purify effluent — The 4 lines of Inert Effluent from Xircon Module must be purified or the system clogs
  5. Sewage management — Cuprium produces sewage that feeds Xircon; excess goes to waste
  6. Build in order — Follow the dependency chain from raw resources to finished products

This modular approach lets you understand exactly what each piece of your factory does, making troubleshooting and expansion much easier than working from a opaque blueprint.
