Consumables Meta: Top Picks & Strategic Analysis | Endfield
Table of Contents

Most players treat the consumable system as an afterthought — pop a heal when HP drops low, maybe remember a buff exists before a boss. That’s leaving a massive chunk of your effective power on the table. With 65 consumables across two categories, the system is deep enough to meaningfully affect your clear rates in hard content.

This is a full analysis of everything in the database: what’s worth using, what’s worth crafting, and how the items interact.

TL;DR - Key Points

  • Yazhen Spray (L) is the best sustained healer — its % Max HP component scales with your operators’ health pool, making it stronger the more you invest in your team
  • Jincao Infusion (Shared, 20% Max HP + 1,648 flat instant) is the best emergency heal when you need HP immediately
  • Arts Tube is the only viable operator revival tool and belongs in every endgame loadout
  • Ginseng Meat Stew + Simmered Xiranite Ball stacked pre-boss adds ~32% bonus Crit Rate plus 180 flat ATK — a larger damage spike than most gear upgrades
  • Buff consumables last 5 minutes — pop them before the boss door, not inside the fight
  • Three consumables dispel Arts Inflictions: Meat Stir-Fry, Pulled Slug Meat, and Secret Stimulating Tisane — these are mandatory prep for arts-debuff bosses
  • “Shared” items heal your entire team on use, not just the active operator — always prioritize Shared options when available

The Two-Category System

Endfield’s consumables split into two fundamentally different types:

Tactical items are used mid-combat. They have a fixed number of uses (usually 2–3 per slot) and deliver immediate or short-duration effects: instant heals, 6-second HoT windows, operator revival, status cleanse. You reach for these when something is actively going wrong.

Consumable items are food-based buffs you apply before a fight. They last 300 seconds (5 full minutes) and affect stats like ATK%, DEF%, Crit Rate, and DMG Reduction. By the time you’re inside a boss room, these should already be ticking.

The mistake most players make: they either ignore Consumable-type buffs entirely, or they pop them mid-fight and lose half the duration.

Healing: Full Tier Breakdown

Heal-Over-Time (HoT) — The Scaling Tier

HoT items deliver healing across 6 seconds. The total is higher than most instant options at the same tier, with one critical caveat: you need those 6 seconds. Use them during breathing windows — after a dodge, during a stagger phase, or while repositioning.

ItemHP/sTotal (6s)Notes
Yazhen Spray (L)★★★★★5% Max HP + 412/s~2,473+Best sustained heal; scales hard
Yazhen Spray (S)★★★★5% Max HP + 391/s~2,346+Near-identical; craftable daily driver
Garden Stir-Fry★★★★5% Max HP + 370/s~2,220+Same % scaling; more accessible
Chubby Lung Jellied Greens★★★★5% Max HP + 370/s~2,220+Same stats; Shared variant
Thorny Yazhen Powder★★★5% Max HP + 320/s~1,917+Solid mid-tier option
Yazhen Syringe (C)★★★320/s flat1,917No % scaling; budget substitute
Canned Citrome (A)★★★★223/s flat1,336No % scaling; easy to mass-craft

The 5% Max HP per second on Yazhen Sprays is the decisive factor. At 15,000 Max HP — reasonable for a well-built endgame operator — each tick restores 750 HP on top of the flat 391/412. Over 6 seconds, total recovery exceeds 8,000 HP. No flat-value item at the same tier comes close.

Instant Healing — Emergency Tier

Instant heals restore HP in a single tick. Use these when you’re critically low and can’t afford the 6-second HoT window.

ItemHP RestoredSharedNotes
Jincao Infusion★★★★★20% Max HP + 1,648YesBest in class; scales with HP pool
Buckpill (Rf.)★★★★★20% Max HP + 1,076YesStrong shared heal
Jincao Tisane★★★★20% Max HP + 1,564YesBudget alternative to Infusion
Valley Pie★★★★★20% Max HP + 975NoSolid non-Shared option
Garden Fried Rice★★★★20% Max HP + 1,312NoGood value for a 4★
Buck Capsule (A)★★★★890 flatYesShared everyday heal
Buck Capsule (B)★★★655 flatYesCheapest viable everyday option

The Jincao line is where the meta sits. Infusion and Tisane both carry a 20% Max HP component that makes them stronger the more you invest in your operators. At 20,000 Max HP, that 20% alone restores 4,000 HP before the flat bonus is even counted.

Team-Wide Healing

A small group of items apply their healing to your entire team:

  • Arts Tube / Arts Vial — Shared; heal + revive
  • Jincao Infusion / Tisane / Drink — Shared instant heals
  • Buckpill line (Rf./S/L) and Firebuckle Powder — Shared instant heals
  • Cartilage Tack / Instant Bone Soup — explicitly tagged “Applies to entire team”

When multiple operators are wounded between encounters, one Shared item tops everyone up more efficiently than healing each operator individually.

Buff Consumables: The Pre-Fight Meta

These are all 300-second duration items. The correct time to use them is before the boss door, not after the fight starts.

Damage Buffs

ItemEffectBest For
Ginseng Meat Stew★★★★★ATK +180, Crit Rate +11.44%All DPS — dual stat spike
Simmered Xiranite Ball★★★★Crit Rate +20.54%Highest single crit rate buff in database
Fortifying Infusion★★★★Crit Rate +9.1%, All DMG +18.19%Crit builds; universal damage amp
Jakub’s Legacy★★★★ATK% +27%High base-ATK operators
Kunst Tube★★★★DMG Dealt +24.65%Universal; build-agnostic
Mini Sugar Painting★★★ATK% +18.19%, Crit Rate +9.1%Budget dual-stat option
Kunst Vial★★★DMG Dealt +18.08%Budget version of Kunst Tube

Stacking note: Different buff consumables stack with each other. Running Ginseng Meat Stew + Simmered Xiranite Ball simultaneously adds approximately 32% total Crit Rate bonus plus 180 flat ATK. That’s a larger damage boost than most individual gear upgrades.

The choice between flat ATK (Ginseng) and ATK% (Jakub’s Legacy) follows standard diminishing returns logic: Jakub’s scales better when your operator already has high base ATK, while Ginseng’s flat +180 is consistent regardless.

Defensive Buffs

ItemEffectNotes
Wuling Fried Rice★★★★★DEF% +68.32%Highest DEF% in database
Pan-Fried Double Crisp★★★★DMG Reduction +29.12%Highest flat DMG reduction
Wuling Flame-Boyance★★★★DEF +42.92, DMG Reduction +17.04%Tanky dual-layer defense
Superhot Slug Gratin★★★DEF% +29.79%Budget DEF% alternative
Mystery Soda★★★DEF% +18.1%, DMG Red. +10.82%, Healing +12.13%Triple effect; excellent 3★ value
Hazefyre Blossom★★★DMG Reduction +16.64%Budget DMG reduction

Key insight: DEF% and DMG Reduction are different mechanics. DEF% increases your defense stat which reduces damage through the defense formula. DMG Reduction applies a flat percentage cut to incoming damage after the defense calculation. Stacking both (Wuling Fried Rice + Pan-Fried Double Crisp) provides layered protection that dramatically cuts effective damage intake.

Support & Utility Buffs

These are often overlooked but can shift certain fight dynamics:

ItemEffectUse Case
Perplexing Medication★★★★Ult Gain Efficiency +23.76%Ult-heavy compositions needing burst windows
Bamboo Sprouts and Meat★★★Ult Gain +21.10%, Treatment Received +35.45%Healer-carry teams; amplifies all incoming healing
Edible Denstack★★★ATK% +6.65%, Crit Rate +3.33%, All DMG +6.65%Triple-stat; decent for budget runs
Seš’qa Style Fillet★★All Attributes +15Early-game catch-all; negligible late

Bamboo Sprouts and Meat deserves more attention. The 35.45% Treatment Received bonus amplifies every heal your healer outputs — not just consumables. On a team running a dedicated healer operator, this translates to a significant effective HP increase across the entire encounter.

Special Effect Consumables

Operator Revival

Only two items in the database can revive a fallen operator:

  • Arts Tube (★★★★) — 30% HP + Revive, 2 uses, Shared
  • Arts Vial (★★★) — 10% HP + Revive, 2 uses, Shared

Arts Tube is the clear choice. The 30% HP post-revive versus Arts Vial’s 10% determines how safely the operator re-enters the fight. Both are Shared, meaning one use can revive any fallen team member. Two uses per slot means each Arts Tube handles two wipe-outs before you need a refill.

Endgame content makes Arts Tube effectively mandatory. The material cost is not prohibitive — Glowbugs (x2) and a Ferrium Bottle — and the insurance value outweighs carrying a second heal.

Arts Infliction Cleanse

Three consumables dispel Arts Inflictions and Arts Reactions mid-combat:

  • Meat Stir-Fry (★★★★★) — 10% HP + 975 flat instant + Dispel (2 uses)
  • Pulled Slug Meat (★★★★) — 334/s × 6s + Dispel (2 uses)
  • Secret Stimulating Tisane (★★★) — 10% HP + 504 flat instant + Dispel (2 uses)

For bosses that apply Arts debuffs — damage-over-time arts effects, Arts Reaction stacks — these are the only in-combat answer that doesn’t require swapping operators or waiting for the debuff to expire. They also restore HP simultaneously, so you’re not sacrificing a heal slot to bring cleanse.

Exploration (Overworld)

TP rest is usually nearby. Keep it light.

  • 2x Buck Capsule (B) — Shared, cheap, handles chip damage
  • 1x Jincao Tisane — Shared emergency heal if TP isn’t available

Dungeon Runs (Protocol Spaces)

No TP access. You need sustained coverage for the full clear.

  • 2x Yazhen Spray (S) — best sustained healing per slot
  • 1x Jincao Tisane — instant emergency backup
  • 1x Wuling Fried Rice — 5-min DEF buff for the entire run

Boss Attempts

Maximum preparation. Pop buffs before the door.

  • Pre-fight: Ginseng Meat Stew + Simmered Xiranite Ball (damage) OR Wuling Fried Rice + Pan-Fried Double Crisp (survival)
  • Slot 1: Jincao Infusion — best emergency instant heal
  • Slot 2: Yazhen Spray (L) — sustained healing during the fight
  • Slot 3: Arts Tube — operator revival safety net
  • Slot 4: Meat Stir-Fry — heal + Arts cleanse if the boss applies debuffs

Crafting Priority

The material ecosystem ties into the consumable tier list:

Infinite loop ingredients (from planting cycles — essentially free):

  • Buckflower → Buckflower Powder → Buck Capsule line
  • Yazhen → Yazhen Powder → Canned Citrome / Yazhen Sprays (intermediate)
  • Citrome → Citrome Powder → Canned Citrome line

Limited farm ingredients (buy or selectively farm):

  • Redjade Ginseng → Ginseng Meat Stew (ATK +180)
  • Thorny Yazhen → Thorny Yazhen Powder → Yazhen Spray (L)
  • Glowbug → Arts Tube / Arts Vial

Once your planting loops are established, daily-use healers like Buck Capsules and Canned Citromes cost nothing to produce. Reserve premium ingredients for the items you actually need in hard content.

The Hidden Gems

Items that underperform their quality label or get ignored:

Mystery Soda (★★★) — DEF% +18.1%, DMG Reduction +10.82%, Treatment Bonus +12.13% on a 3★ is remarkable value. Most players walk past it because the individual numbers seem modest. Stacked, those three effects cover a lot of ground.

Bamboo Sprouts and Meat (★★★) — The Treatment Received +35.45% only matters if you’re running a dedicated healer, but when you are, it substantially amplifies every heal that operator outputs across the fight.

Perplexing Medication (★★★★) — Ultimate Gain Efficiency +23.76% is unique in the database. For operators whose kits rely on frequent ultimates, this can meaningfully tighten the cadence of your burst windows.

Jakub’s Legacy (★★★★) — ATK% +27% outperforms Ginseng Meat Stew’s flat ATK on operators with high base attack values. On late-game operators with 800+ base ATK, 27% scales to 216+ attack — more than Ginseng’s flat 180.

Consumables are a renewable resource once your production loops are running. The only expensive decision is saving premium ingredients for premium content — and then actually using them when that content arrives.
